What Is Farmer Brown Going to Do?!
![]() |
The cows and hens are chilly at night, so they hatch a clever plan to get some electric blankets: type a letter to Farmer Brown!
Inspired by the disgruntled farm animals in Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, a best-loved picture book by Doreen Cronin with illustrations by Betsy Lewin—and the Scholastic Book Clubs Book of the Week—the Book Boys reenact the story in a fun, original moooosic video.
Let your class take a brain break! Between lessons or after recess or lunch, play this kid-friendly song to help students reenergize and refocus while also supporting reading comprehension by presenting the Book of the Week in a new way.
We Suggest:
1. Share the title and cover of Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type with your students. Encourage them to make predictions about the story, such as what they believe cows will do with a typewriter!
2. Read aloud the Book of the Week.
3. After reading, play the Book Boys original music video for your class. It’s a great way to help students with reading comprehension before moving into other lesson plans!
How else might the cows have persuaded Farmer Brown to give them electric blankets? Do your students have ideas? If you’re able, please share your students’ responses with the Scholastic Book Clubs community on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.
