Cooked Up From A Book

Activity: “Dragons Love My Tacos!”

Free Downloadable Worksheet Inspired by Dragons Love Tacos

JNB-DearMrHenshaw-CUFAB-hero

There’s only one rule when it comes to making tacos for dragons: no spicy salsa!

Aside from that, there’s nothing off-limits! After reading Dragons Love Tacos, download this free printable “Dragons Love My Tacos!” worksheet and encourage students to come up with their own taco recipes. It’s a great way to help readers practice sequencing, make connections to the text, and flex their creative muscles.

Teacher Tip

Encourage students to get creative with their tacos! They can create tacos based on a specific theme, cuisine, or anything else they come up with.

This activity was inspired by first grade teacher Lindsay Sauer. To learn more ways you can use Dragons Love Tacos in your classroom, check out her Teacher Share video in Book Talks!

How did your students’ taco recipes turn out? Were they delicious? If you’re able, please share them with the Scholastic Book Clubs community on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.

Join the Book Boys as they learn how to make their own bao in an original music video; watch an exclusive interview with author Kat Zhang in Behind the Scenes; discover how one teacher uses Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao in her classroom in Book Talks; and download a free printable “My Perfect Recipe” sequencing activity in Cooked Up from a Book.

We hope that Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao inspires you and your students to never give up on trying something new, because practice makes perfect!
