This week, the Book Boys are inspired by Tiffany Williams—a library media specialist who is featured in Book Talks—to take a virtual field trip to Ukraine. There they drop into the wintry world of Jan Brett’s The Mitten, Scholastic Book Clubs’ Book of the Week.
In Ukraine, Book Boys Allister, Elliott, and Max learn about the origins of the folktale that inspired The Mitten and discover facts about the country’s climate, ecosystem, and culture.
Did your students enjoy going along with the Book Boys on their virtual field trip? Please share what your students learned on Facebook and Instagram. The Scholastic Book Clubs community would love to hear from you, so be sure to use the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.
