Free Downloadable Activity Inspired by I Survived the Japanese Tsunami, 2011
by Alana Pedalino
We’re always looking for creative ways for students to practice their reading comprehension skills—especially for stories as action-packed as I Survived the Japanese Tsunami, 2011 by Lauren Tarshis!
Inspired by fourth grade teacher Kris Clark, we put together this free downloadable brochure activity that asks students to describe the two main characters of the story, identify core plot points, and more. Along the way, students will have a chance to capture what they’ve learned about tsunamis from the book too!
You can adapt this activity for any I Survived book!
