Free Downloadable Activities Inspired by the Bobs and Tweets Series
by Judy Newman
The Bobs and Tweets books are designed to be easy and fun to read for kids. The books rhyme. They are illustrated in full color. And they are all set on Bonefish Street—a community of interesting and sometimes wacky characters who don’t always agree but definitely respect each other’s individuality. The Bobs are slobs and the Tweets are neat. They are very different, but they have one thing in common: they love activity books.
So with the help of Kelly O’Donnell and illustrator Kristy Caldwell, the Bobs and Tweets and all their friends created A Bonefish Street Activity Book, which is bursting with fun fill-ins, puzzles, learning games, mazes, and all kinds of activities.
To give you a taste of what’s inside, we’ve selected five activities we think your students will enjoy. Feel free to print them out for kids to have fun filling them in. For only $1 each, you can get copies of the full book—along with the answer key—and some interesting information about the Bobs and Tweets and their super-fun community.
A Bonefish Street Activity Book is a great companion to this week’s Book of the Week, The New Dog in Town, and other books in the Bobs and Tweets series!
How did your students’ activities turn out? If you’re able, please share their drawings, writings, and thoughts with us and other Scholastic Book Clubs teachers on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.
