A Video About “Me” (The Book Boys, That Is!)
by Traci Swain
As a kid, life can be super-exciting, laugh-out-loud funny, a bit gross, and sometimes even a little embarrassing—but whatever happens, life also usually presents some great learning opportunities! This is definitely true for the brother-and-sister stars from our twin Books of the Week: Judy Moody Was in a Mood and Stink: The Incredible Shrinking Kid, both by Megan McDonald and illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds.
The Book Boys loved reading about Judy’s and Stink’s unique hobbies and passions. So, just like Judy in Judy Moody Was in a Mood, the guys put together their own “Me Collages” showcasing their favorite hobbies and interests:
• Allister shares his favorite dish.
• Elliott shares one of his favorite hobbies.
• Max talks about his favorite sports and teams.
Watch the Book Boys video with your students to get your students excited to read these two Books of the Week. After, we’d love to hear what your students thought about Judy Moody Was in a Mood and Stink: The Incredible Shrinking Kid. If you’re able, please share with us and other Scholastic Book Clubs teachers on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.
The Book Boys work in different departments at Scholastic Book Clubs. They formed a group to share a wide range of books and introduce students to the world of reading. Each week, the Book Boys select a book to feature. They make stories come alive by creating fun, educational, and engaging videos for teachers and families to use in the classroom or at home. The Book Boys, like everyone at Scholastic Book Clubs, want all kids to love to read and be proud to declare: “I am a reader!”
