The Book Boys just want to read the Book of the Week in peace. But a certain chicken—we mean, Elliott—won’t stop interrupting!
Watch the Book Boys’ hilarious video with your class to introduce your students to the Caldecott Honor–winning picture book Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein. You can use this funny video to help your students:
• Discuss the importance of patience and listening
• Practice responding to literature
• Connect to the text by sharing their favorite bedtime stories or fairy tales
After you’re done giggling along with the Book Boys, head over to Cooked Up from a Book for a free downloadable class activity.

The Book Boys work in different departments at Scholastic Book Clubs. They formed a group to share a wide range of books and introduce students to the world of reading. Each week, the Book Boys select a book to feature. They make stories come alive by creating fun, educational, and engaging videos for teachers and families to use in the classroom or at home. The Book Boys, like everyone at Scholastic Book Clubs, want all kids to love to read and be proud to declare: “I am a reader!”
