If you’ve met the Book Boys or watched their videos, you know they’re passionate about treating one another (and others) with kindness and respect!
That’s a big reason why Elliott, Allister, and special guest Liz—who works alongside the Book Boys at Scholastic—are so excited to share the engaging student-teacher activities and resources on the blog this week for The Invisible Boy, written by Trudy Ludwig and illustrated by Patrice Barton.
Use this award-winning book alongside Scholastic Book Clubs’ exclusive resources and videos to help your students explore socio-emotional topics, including:
• Social skills and communication
• Friendship and inclusivity
• Kindness and empathy
When Liz asks, “What can you do to help someone else feel visible?” pause the video and let your students answer! Then they can compare their answers with the kids on camera.
The Book Boys (and Liz) work in different departments at Scholastic Book Clubs. They decided to form a group to share a wide range of books and introduce students to the world of reading. Each week, the Book Boys select a book to feature. They make stories come alive by creating fun, educational, and engaging videos for teachers and families to use in the classroom or at home. The Book Boys, like everyone at Scholastic Book Clubs, want all kids to love to read and be proud to declare: “I am a reader!”
