Join Max, Allister, and Elliott as they present the student-teacher resources we created for Mango, Abuela, and Me!
• Max considers interviewing his grandfather, like kindergarten teacher Natasha Ciron recommends in Book Talks.
• Allister walks through how to complete the translation activity in Cooked Up from a Book.
• Elliott shares his three favorite takeaways from the interviews with Meg Medina and Angela Dominguez in Behind the Scenes.
Then the guys take a note out of Mia and Abuela’s book and practice Spanish by labeling different items around their homes—something you can try at home or in the classroom!
How do you plan to use Mango, Abuela, and Me with your students? After watching this video, please share with us (and the Book Boys) by posting on Facebook and Instagram and using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs. We may even feature your post on our social media pages!
The Book Boys work in different departments at Scholastic Book Clubs. They decided to form a group to share a wide range of books and introduce students to the world of reading. Each week, the Book Boys select a book to feature. They make stories come alive by creating fun, educational, and engaging videos for teachers and families to use in the classroom or at home. The Book Boys, like everyone at Scholastic Book Clubs, want all kids to love to read and be proud to declare: “I am a reader!”
