The Book Boys will help you make the most of Restart by Gordon Korman!
Watch this five-minute video with your students as Allister, Elliott, and Max recap everything they’ve learned about the Book of the Week. They also share great back-to-school resources available to you on the blog this week. In this video…
• Max relates how teacher Colby Sharp analyzes character development and how it informs theme and plot.
• Allister tries out an exclusive original activity—a free downloadable expository and persuasive writing prompt that asks students: Can people reinvent themselves? Did Chase reinvent himself?
• Elliott gets excited about his three favorite takeaways from the Scholastic Book Clubs–exclusive interview with Gordon Korman—including that Gordon never thought he’d be an author when he was growing up…that is, until his 13th birthday, when he signed his first publishing contract!
• The Book Boys go head-to-head in a book trivia challenge!
How are you sharing the blog with your students this week? Please let us know on Facebook and Instagram by using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs. We love hearing from teachers, and we may even share your post on our social media pages!
The Book Boys work in different departments at Scholastic Book Clubs. They decided to form a group to share a wide range of books and introduce students to the world of reading. Each week, the Book Boys select a book to feature. They make stories come alive by creating fun, educational, and engaging videos for teachers and families to use in the classroom or at home—and to help kids connect with stories, get them excited about reading, and help them declare “I am a reader.”
