Can you believe summer is finally here?!
In this surreal time, it feels like we’ve simultaneously been in summer forever and not at all.
But two things about summer will always be the same: beautiful weather and lots of wonderful books!
The summer offers incredible opportunity to catch up on all the things we might’ve been missing throughout the school year. And now more than ever, we know how important it is for families to have access to great books and learning while school is out.
That’s why Scholastic Book Clubs is proud to share our brand-new reading initiative: Catch Up on Reading!
Until June 30 (while supplies last!), we’re bringing back 17 of this year’s Books of the Week:
• Do Unto Otters: A Book About Manners
• Esperanza Rising
• The View from Saturday
• We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga
• The Snowy Day
• Hidden Figures: Young Readers’ Edition
• There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose!
• Maya Lin: Artist-Architect of Light and Lines
• Duke Ellington
• Doctor De Soto
• Freak the Mighty
• The Very Impatient Caterpillar
• Love That Dog
• The Great Kapok Tree: A Tale of the Amazon Rain Forest
• Hope: Project Middle School
• My Father’s Dragon
While you catch up on summer reading, the Scholastic Book Clubs team will be (virtually) putting our heads together to find ways to better support and elevate the work you do every day.
We hope you and the young readers in your life have a wonderful summer catching up on reading, and we can’t wait to see you next year! And please remember, my in-box is always open—email me if there’s anything we can do for you.
Happy reading, and happy summer!
