Virtual-Learning Tips and Tricks
by Traci Swain
Discover how one kindergarten teacher uses the Baby Shark picture book in a virtual classroom setting to engage with her students at home in this Scholastic Book Clubs–exclusive teacher review video.
In September, Beth Narkiewicz’s kindergartners came into her classroom at McKenzie School in East Rutherford, New Jersey, singing “Baby Shark.” Now, she finds that the picture-book version of Baby Shark is perfect for easing the transition from school to at-home learning!
By using Baby Shark in a virtual lesson, she can:
• Introduce beginning letter sounds, colors, family members, ocean animals, and more
• Practice sequencing by creating puppets for the characters and reenacting the story
• Encourage journal writing that incorporates sight words
Watch her exclusive made-at-home teacher review video to see how Baby Shark can fit into your online classroom!
