Classroom Activity: Video Inspired by E. B. White’s Stuart Little
by Jamie Turak
Who knew the Book Boys would have so much in common with a little mouse?! Like the titular hero of E. B. White’s beloved children’s novel Stuart Little, the Book Boys were born to human parents, live in New York City, and have had to think quickly on their feet many times in their lives.
Try this class activity for a fun way to get students into the world of Stuart Little: Watch the video with your class as the Book Boys share some “Stuart stories” from their childhoods about times they overcame a daunting challenge through quick thinking and perseverance.
How would you use Stuart Little as part of your teaching curriculum? Do your students have any of their own “Stuart stories” to share? Please tell us on social media using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.
These four guys, who work in different departments at Scholastic Book Clubs, formed a book group. Each week, they choose a new book to read together. Then they meet, discuss, and create fun and entertaining videos to help kids discover titles offered by Scholastic Book Clubs.
While the Book Boys come from diverse backgrounds and were definitely different growing up, they all have one thing in common: they really want to keep kids excited about books and reading.
