Student Book Review of The Princess in Black
by Traci Swain
Do you know any young readers who love stories about superheroes? How about princesses?
Fifth grader Hudson N. and third graders Hudson L. and Cooper N. were initially skeptical. “I thought I wasn’t going to like [The Princess in Black] because it has a princess on the cover,” admitted Hudson L. But in the end, all three of these boys were excited to read about Princess Magnolia’s daring monster-fighting adventure.
In this student book review, the boys share their favorite parts of The Princess in Black—as well as how it defied their expectations.
Watch this video book review with your students and get them excited about diving into this monstrously readable series that, as Cooper says, is “not only for girls—it’s for boys too!”
