Classroom Activity Inspired by The Princess in Black
by Alana Pedalino and Hisami Aoki

An awesome disguise!
Inspired by Princess Magnolia’s impressive transformation into the Princess in Black, we decided to make super reading masks. And you can too!
All you need are:
• White printer paper (to print the templates)
• Popsicle sticks
• Decorating supplies (we used crayons, pipe cleaners, felt, sparkles, color pencils, and markers)
Our Scholastic Book Clubs interns (and some staff!) unleashed their creative powers and created these awesome masks:
Would your students enjoy making their own hero masks? It’s super simple! Download the template here:
How did your masks turn out?! We’d love to see! Please share your pictures with us on social media using the hashtag #ScholasticBookClubs.
